Hollywood Center Studios Helps Keep @Radical Media Operating in the Pink

In Raise Your Glass , Pink offers a tribute to the underdogs of the world in her spunky, no holds barred fashion. The music video, shot largely on Stage 5 at Hollywood Center Studios, features a series of vignettes in which the pop diva helps the weak triumph over the strong, the latter including a sumo wrestler (representing a rich capitalist) and a bullfighter who suffers a fate usually intended for the bull.
The video was directed by Dave Meyers, a winner of 11 Video Music Awards for his work with such artists as Shakira, Katy Perry, Dave Matthews Band and Jay-Z. By music video standards, Raise Your Glass was a massive undertaking, spanning three days and involving five sets and a cast of more than 100.
Stage 5 provided an ideal shooting environment as it was large enough to accommodate all the sets and offered ample support space for the large cast and crew. “Shooting everything in the same space allowed us to control the look,” explains Derek Roberto, Head of Production for Music Videos at @Radical Media, Meyers’ production company. “It was also a great convenience. We could rotate sets quickly, and prep one set while shooting on another.”
During the middle of the shoot, a crew from Access Hollywood showed up to chat with Pink and space needed to be quickly found for the interview. “Hollywood Center was very accommodating in finding space for everyone,” Roberto notes. “They supplied everything we needed and it all showed up on stage when we needed it.”
